This photoshoot was nothing short of the representation of how you never truly know where life is going to take you. Although life may take you in a different direction than what you had originally planned, the altered path could not only become the destination that you never knew you wanted; but it could potentially be the path that you never knew you were meant to be on.
I was taking a road-trip to scout a location for an engagement photo session that I had the following week. I asked a friend of mine to tag along with me and she agreed. During our drive we lost connection of our GPS which, in turn, took us off route and we got a bit lost.
We ended up taking a wrong turn down an extremely torn up, most likely was made for farming trucks and tractors, dirt road. We knew that we were close to our destination and simply needed to find a main road.
However, during our drive we came across this open spot with a creek running through it and a small bridge for cars to cross the river. We both were in shock as to how pretty this location was and decided to stop and take some pictures which turned out fantastic.
On our drive home, we started talking about how that trip was somewhat like life- the road to get there was really rough, we didn’t mean to go down that road, but we would have never found that fantastic location if we hadn’t. The location we were planning to go visit had no creek running through it and we were not wanting to find a river to photograph near. However, the photographs turned out amazing and we actually liked this location better than our planned destination.
This trip was similar to life- even when life throws unforeseen detours your way, the path it directs you on and the end result could be better than what you originally wanted. When life gets hard, just remember that you may end up with something you never knew you wanted.
