If you’ve been in the photography industry for longer than a day you will absolutely know who KT Merry is.  KT Merry is a global destination wedding and editorial photographer that I simply cannot get enough of.  She, of course, is a film photographer capturing images that truly radiate what it means to be a fine art photographer.  She partners with her husband Chad and this iconic duo is nothing short of incredible and something any photography couple would strive to be.

I first came across KT’s images when I started getting into film and I have been a total fanboy since.  I talk about her constantly, I check her instagram page literally everyday, I listen to every podcast she is on, and pull so much inspiration from her.  If I’m being completely honest; if I were sitting in a restaurant and she walked in I would loose my mind.  I would be the person that runs over and says “I want to respect your privacy but I had to meet you”.  All the meanwhile I would be praying that she asked me to sit with her.  Crazy?  Yes.  True?  Also yes.  I don’t think I could contain myself and there’s a solid chance it would get out of control because I would be so starstruck.  This was an actual conversation between Trey and I recently:

Me: Did you see the photos that *Photographer* just posted?

Trey: I did.  Who does she think she is?  KT Merry?

Me (joking): FIRST OF ALL…. don’t ever compare *photographer* to KT Merry.  The ONLY person like KT Merry is KT freaking Merry.  Secondly, how dare you?

Trey: You are way too much.

She is also an avid animal lover and conservationist; which anyone who knows me will attest that I am as well.  She developed a fine art print shop that provides financial support to the specific conservations of the animals in each photograph named Render Loyalty.  This was something that sealed the deal for me on KT.  Not only is she a remarkable photographer, but she is socially responsible which is something we need more of in the world.  The images are all shot on Contax and black and white film which everyone knows I love black and white images.  Be sure to check this out!
